Caution:
If you use automatic update feature on the network license manager, it can happen that it does not find the latest network license file. To avoid that, make sure to manually open the network license file to update it.
What is an error about?
An error about a package that has already been installed will appear in the bottom of the package details page. A warning about the package or another package that might conflict with the package in question will appear above the package details page.
How to avoid this error?
First, ensure that the network license manager is up-to-date. For instance, if you do not use automatic update, you must manually open the network license file to update it.
What happens if I do not update the network license manager?
The network license manager can do an automatic update. It will check to see if any updates are available. If there is no update, it will start to check to see if you want to update it. If you do, the network license manager will download the latest network license file from Microsoft, check it and then restart the network license manager service.
How to download the network license file?
If the network license manager is not running, open the Start menu and click on the network license manager service. In the list of services, double-click on the network license manager service to start it.
If the network license manager is already running, double-click on the network license manager to open it. If you do not see the network license manager you need to install, in the Start menu, click on the Settings item, select All Control Panel Items, and then select Control Panel. Under the Programs heading, select the Network and Internet category and then select Network and Sharing Center. Finally, under the Local area network heading, select Network and Dialup Connections.
In the dialog that opens, click on the properties button.
The License tab that opens allows you to open the network license file that is stored in the network license manager.
Note:
If the network license file is locked, you can open it by using the Unlock button. If the network license file is locked by a user, click Unlock and enter the password that is stored in the user's registry.
To open the network license file, select the box next to the Include this network license file on the computer.
